Is Master Quest in the Switch 2 remake?
No. The Switch 2 remake does not include Master Quest, and finishing the story does not unlock it. The Nintendo 3DS version still does, after the credits.
The short answer, then the history
Kotaku’s headline is that the remake officially has no Master Quest mode. GoNintendo, looking at early copies on 3 November 2026, says the same thing in plainer words: after the credits there is no Master Quest option. I treat those as two sources for the absence. No DLC announcement was in either piece, so I am not writing that it will be added later. As of 5 Nov 2026 it had not been announced.
Master Quest itself is older than the 3DS. It shipped in 2002 as a GameCube bonus for pre-ordering The Wind Waker. On 3DS it is a second quest: the world is mirrored, enemies and bosses deal double damage, dungeons are rearranged, some optional items become required, and some Gold Skulltulas move. That description is the Zelda Wiki Master Quest page. I have not found a second independent write-up of every mirrored room, so the mechanical bullets stay at one source.
If you want that quest, the path is a 3DS cartridge, covered on platforms. The rest of the Switch 2 delta is on remake differences. Dungeon pages note “Master Quest layout differs; not in the 2026 remake” only as a pointer back here, not as a room guide.

Will a patch add Master Quest?
No such patch was announced as of 5 Nov 2026. I am not forecasting one.
Is the 3DS quest the mirrored one?
Yes. Zelda Wiki describes a mirrored world, double damage, and rearranged dungeons. That mechanical detail is one source.
