Controls and beginner tips for the remake

The remake no longer jumps for you at every ledge. You press jump, you can sprint after a roll, and Castle Town has a free camera. A full button map was not published.

What is actually new

Nintendo Everything’s change list and an 80.lv report agree on three control changes: jump is manual, holding the attack button after a roll starts a sprint, and the camera can be moved freely in Castle Town. Gyro aiming and new lock-on options are also on that list, plus display presets named Normal, Pro, and Master. I do not have a diagram that assigns those actions to Switch 2 buttons, so I am not printing Y/X/A guesses.

Crouch questions (the Portuguese “como agachar” searches) are about a low stance that existed on Nintendo 64. I do not have a Switch 2 help page that renames it, so I am not declaring a new crouch button. If you are stuck on the first sword, that is the Kokiri Sword in the forest practice hole, which is what lets you into the Deku Tree.

Songs can be played from the songbook, or by humming, or with a real instrument. The store page does not say the console microphone is required. Button charts that are sourced live on songs. The temple sequence is on the walkthrough.

Questions

How do I jump?

The remake uses a jump button. Older guides that say Link jumps automatically at ledges are describing the Nintendo 64 and 3DS games.

Can I blow into the Switch 2 mic to play songs?

A real instrument and humming are described. A microphone requirement is not on the store page, so I am not stating one.
