Link, the Hero of Time

Link is the character you play from the Kokiri Forest prologue. He is a Hylian raised by the Kokiri, and the story splits him into a child and an adult seven years later.

Two bodies, one file

Zelda Wiki’s Link page is where I took the biography: home in Kokiri Forest, summoned by Navi, child equipment of the Kokiri Sword and Deku Shield, adult equipment of the Master Sword and Hylian Shield. Drawing the Master Sword in the Temple of Time is the cut that seals him until he is old enough. I am not retelling every sage visit here. The sword page covers the pedestal, and Epona’s page covers the horse he raises at Lon Lon Ranch.

The 2026 remake’s published English cast does not list a voice for Link. Nintendo Everything’s Japanese cast does: Serika Hiromatsu as Young Link and Shou Komura as Adult Link. I am keeping that split instead of inventing an English credit. The same remake notes give him a manual jump, a sprint, a free camera in Castle Town, and separate child and adult inventory sections. Those are control changes, not a new backstory.

People searching “what is Link’s backstory” usually want the Kokiri upbringing and the seven-year sleep. That is the part two pages agree on. Later timeline arguments about other Zelda games are outside this one title, so I am not importing them. Princess Zelda, Saria, and Sheik each have their own pages because their questions are different from “who am I controlling.”

Questions

Who voices Link in the remake?

The published English list does not name him. The Japanese cast lists Serika Hiromatsu (Young Link) and Shou Komura (Adult Link). One source: Nintendo Everything.

Does he change age on Switch 2?

The child and adult forms remain. Inventory is split between them in the remake notes.
