Ganon’s Castle
Ganon’s Castle floats where Hyrule Castle stood, over a lava lake. The six sages build the Rainbow Bridge once you have the six medallions. The tower climb is the last dungeon.
Bridge, barriers, gauntlets, tower
Zelda Wiki describes six elemental barrier trials inside the castle before the tower. The Golden Gauntlets come from the Great Fairy whose fountain you reach as part of that approach; they are the strength item, not a boss drop. An Iron Knuckle is the mini-boss named in the notes. I am not numbering the trials one through six with room sketches, because I would be padding.
The bridge itself does not appear until the six medallions are done and the sages act. People who search “how to finish the castle” often still owe a temple. Forest, Fire, Water, Shadow, and Spirit plus the light sage’s prelude are the set. Shadow and Forest have pages here; the others stay on the dungeon table until they earn a page.
Master Quest’s extra Fire Arrow requirement for a spirit barrier is a 3DS note and does not apply to the Switch 2 cart, which has no Master Quest. The final two-phase fight is written on Ganondorf’s page so this one can stay about the building. The Hall of Fallen Foes, added in the remake, replays bosses and is not a new trial inside the castle.
Treat the barrier chamber as the hub for the six trials. Complete the open branches before concentrating on the tower, and check the Golden Gauntlets entry when a heavy obstacle stops progress. The escape follows the tower fight, so finishing the barrier trials is not the final objective of the dungeon.
Questions
Why is there no bridge?
The Rainbow Bridge needs all six medallions and the awakened sages. A missing temple is the usual cause.
Where are the Golden Gauntlets?
From the Great Fairy tied to this approach, on the wiki. They are the strength item you need for the castle obstacles.
