Fire, Ice, and Light Arrows
Three magic arrows share the Fairy Bow and then split. Fire and Ice are optional puzzle tools. Light Arrows are required for Ganondorf, and Zelda gives them to you.
Three places, not one shop
Fire Arrows: the wiki says to shoot the rising sun from the plaque above the Water Temple entrance at Lake Hylia. Ice Arrows: finish the Gerudo Training Ground. Light Arrows: Zelda hands them over in the Temple of Time after the six sages are awake. I am writing them as three errands because a single “special arrows” chest does not exist in these sources. All three consume magic and all three need the bow from the Forest Temple.
Fire lights torches and melts ice. Ice freezes enemies. Light stuns Ganondorf and Ganon. Only Light is mandatory for the ending. Master Quest on 3DS makes Fire Arrows required for one barrier in Ganon’s Castle; that quest is not in the Switch 2 remake, so do not block your clear waiting for a sun shot unless you want the optional arrow.
Ice Arrow’s Gerudo location is the one people mix up with a Spirit Temple chest. I am staying with the training-ground line from the Ice Arrow page. If a remake video moves it, that move is not in the notes I kept.
Check the arrow type against the task before spending magic. The Fire Arrow pickup belongs to Lake Hylia, the Ice Arrow reward belongs to the training ground, and Light Arrows follow the story with Zelda. None of these replaces finding the bow itself in the Forest Temple.
Questions
Which arrow is required?
Light Arrows, for the last boss. Fire and Ice are optional on the standard quest.
Do I need the bow first?
Yes. Magic arrows are upgrades to the Fairy Bow, not separate weapons.
